Review: Estée Lauder Double wear Stay in place makeup Foundation

So, the very base of makeup grabs my attention today for this article. A foundation that is in the market for quite some time and which doesn’t need an introduction to the makeup lovers. Its Estée Lauder Double wear Stay in place makeup.

SONY DSCI am in the shade Henna (Honestly its little darker, but sometimes my skin plays tough with me)

So lets jump straight in the details of this foundation.

About the brand:

The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. is an American manufacturer and marketer of prestige skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair care products. The company owns a diverse portfolio of brands and has its headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.

Product Description:

It comes in the standard blue colored Estée lauder packing.

SONY DSC Once you take the bottle out,its a smoked white glass bottle with a golden cap.

SONY DSCOops there is no pump, so you have to be good with the quantity and make sure not to have shaky hands. You can apply it with your fingers, brush, or a sponge.

Product Claim:

The remarkable lasting, yet lightweight make up wears comfortably up to 15 hours. Even in high humidity, it won’t smudge or come off on clothes. It delivers flawless, 24-hour staying power, and it is natural-looking for carefree coverage.

Water\Aqua\Eau; Cyclopentasiloxane; Trimethylsiloxysilicate; Peg/Ppg-18/18 Dimethicone; Butylene Glycol; Tribehenin; Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate; Magnesium Sulfate; Tocopheryl Acetate; Polymethylsilsesquioxane; Methicone; Laureth-7; Xanthan Gum; Alumina; Sodium Dehydroacetate; Disteardimonium Hectorite; Cellulose Gum; Propylene Carbonate; Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate; Phenoxyethanol; [+/- Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499); Mica; Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891)]

It is lightweight foundation which is easy to apply and can be worn on everyday basis. It doesn’t smudge or change color after some time. But in my case it does come off on clothes.

It gives medium to full coverage covering unevenness of the skin. Even after full coverage it is flawless and looks natural.

This product is dermatologist tested and is oil free,fragrance-free and non-acnegenic (won’t clog pores) .

The claim is for 24 Hour longwear. Thats little too much but it does last through heat and humidity and activity.

Its matte and for all skin types.. Its a little oil controlling but not a full matte foundation. I have oily skin and Sometimes my t-zone starts asking for attention after few hours only.

235 AED (4200 INR approx) for 30 ml

The Conclusion:

  1. It blends well and is easy to apply.
  2. It goes on smoothly.
  3. It has Good pigmentation resulting in a good coverage.
  4. It is Lightweight but long lasting.
  5. It comes in so many shades. A boon to Indians!
  6. It gives Matte finish to those who have lesser oily face. But for my lovelies who have oily skin, you need a good compact powder over it.

  1. It has good coverage to conceal uneven skin or complexion but doesn’t work well with scars or spots.
  2. It doesn’t have good SPF coverage. A sunscreen is a must under it.
  3. It is quite pricey and you may get cheap alternatives.
  4. A pump could have been an advantage.

So its a foundation must have if you are looking for a natural finish with good coverage (even if you have oily face or t-zone). My opinion would be to go for this pricey one if you have tried almost every other brand(I’ve heard lóreal do have similar shades and finishs). But this one takes the trophy for wearability and shades.

Until next time
